With themes you can set visual elements such as color, background, and icons on the PSP system. This feature requires PSP system software version 3.72 or higher. Visit PSP System Software Update to download and install the most recent version.

Please review the following topics to learn about themes for the PSP system.

How to change themes

  1. In the XMBTM home menu, go to Settings icon (Settings) > Theme Settings icon (Theme Settings)
  2. Select the theme and press the X button icon button.
    • Original
The PSP system default theme is displayed.
    • Classic
The [Original] theme of the PSP system software version 4.XX and earlier is displayed.
    • Tasty Treat
The [Tasty Treat] theme is displayed. For PSP-2000 or PSP-3000 only.
    • Custom Theme
A theme that has been saved in the PSP system memory is displayed. Only one theme can be saved in the PSP system memory.
    • Memory Stick icon (Theme icon)
A theme that has been saved on Memory Stick DuoTM media is displayed. Any number of themes can be saved on Memory Stick Duo media.
  3. The new theme will now be displayed

NOTE:

  • All themes that may be used are stored on Memory Stick Duo media. When the themes are applied to the PSP, they are saved in the PSP system memory.
  • In order to apply a new theme from the Memory Stick Duo, you must first delete/overwrite the old theme that is currently stored on the system memory and a message confirming whether or not to overwrite it will be displayed. You must answer [Yes] and press the X button icon button in order to apply the new theme.
  • Previous themes that have been used will still be available on the Memory Stick Duo media.
