Does your PS Vita turn on but no picture appears on the screen? Your PS Vita's screen may be cracked. Unlike the PSP system where the screen will have spiderweb-like cracks and the screen will still turn on; when the PS Vita screen is cracked, no image will appear on the screen at all making it harder to see if the screen is damaged.

Some things to look out for:

  • PS Vita will power on (the PS button is blue) but no picture appears
  • When you try to tap or swipe on the touchscreen you can hear the system sounds

What to do

If those are your symptoms, tilt the PS Vita and view the screen from different angles or under different lighting conditions and look for fine lines. If there are lines, the screen is cracked and will have to be sent in for out of warranty service.  

If you do no see any lines on the screen, then try these picture troubleshooting steps.
