Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) does not accept return merchandise purchased from retailers. You will need to speak to the retailer directly regarding their return/exchange policies; SCEA cannot dictate return and exchange policies of retailers. If you purchased an extended warranty, you must contact the retailer where the extended warranty was purchased for additional information.

SCEA provides a Limited Warranty for all PlayStation® systems, its first party peripherals, and first party format software titles. In order to obtain in-warranty service from SCEA, you must have your proof of purchase, (i.e., store receipt).
