In addition to the general Parental Controls, the PS3 system also offers parental control options for the Internet Browser.
Internet Browser Start Control on the PS3
The Internet Browser Start Control on the PS3 requires users to input a password before accessing the Internet. If you set your Internet Browser Start Control to "On", you will be required to input your password before you can browse the Internet.
Note: This feature does not allow you to block individual web sites.
To use the Internet Browser Start Control:
Requires your PS3 system password.
- In the XMBTM home menu, go to (Settings) > [Security Settings] and press the button.
- Select [Internet Browser Start Control] and press the button.
- Enter your 4 digit password.
- Select your option:
Choose [On] to enable the Internet Browser Start Control.
Choose [Off] to disable the Internet Browser Start Control.
Trend Micro Web Security on the PS3
Trend Micro Web Security for PS3 is a service that helps block harmful, fraudulent and other malicious sites on the Internet including those that are likely to be inappropriate for children and families. For more information:
Please note that other than the above parental control features, there are no other ways of disabling the Internet Browser on the PS3 system. You may wish to contact whoever set up your wireless network to determine whether there are any external means of limiting the Internet access for the PS3 system.
