How to Reset Your PSN Account Password

This article will teach you how to change or reset your PSN password with a PS4™, PS3™, PS Vita, or web browser. In some situations, you will need to contact us for assistance if you lack the login credentials or account background information.
 

If You Know Your Sign-In ID, Current Password, and Have Access to Your Email Account

With this information, you can change your account password yourself on the platform of your choice below.

Change Your Password on PlayStation®4

Step 1: From the PS4's Home Screen, go to Settings > Account Management > Account Information > Security.
Step 2: If prompted, enter your Sign-In ID and current password.
Step 3: Enter your current password, then your new password twice > Confirm.
Step 4: You will then receive an email confirmation that your password have been changed.

 

Change Your Password on PlayStation®3

Step 1: From the XMB™, go to PlayStation Network > Sign In.
Step 2
: If prompted, enter your Sign-In ID and current password.
Step 3: Select Account Management > Account InformationPassword.
Step 4
: Enter your current password.
Step 5: Enter your new password in the top field and re-enter it in the second field > Confirm.
Step 6
: You will then receive an email confirmation that your password have been changed.

 

Change Your Password on PlayStation®Vita

Step 1: Make sure that your PS Vita can connect to the Internet.
Step 2: From the Vita Home Screen, tap Settings > PlayStation Network.
Step 3: Once signed in, select Account Information > enter current password.
Step 4: Scroll down until you see the Password and Re-Enter Password boxes.
Step 5: Enter new password into the Password box and then re-type it exactly into the Re-Enter Password box.
Step 6: You will then receive an email confirmation that your password have been changed.

 

Change Your Password on Web Browser

Step 1: Visit the PlayStation Network website.
Step 2: Enter the email address and password associated with your PlayStation Network account.
Step 3: Click the Account tab at the top of the screen and then select Account Details.
Step 4: Under the Security section, click Password > Change.
Step 5: Enter your current password, and then your new password twice and click Save.
Step 6: You will then receive an email confirmation that your password have been changed.

 

If You Know Your Sign-In ID, But Don't Know Your Password

You can get a new password sent to your account's email by visiting the PlayStation Network website. Click Trouble Signing In? > Reset Your Password.
