Cancel Auto Renewal for Subscription Services

The PSN offers a variety of items available on a subscription basis (PlayStation Plus, Music Unlimited, DC Universe Online, etc.)

When a you purchase a subscription, you will be prompted to enter Credit Card information and the Auto Renewal option will default to "ON".  Unless a you opt to turn off the Auto Renewal feature manually, your subscription will renew automatically by deducting funds from your wallet, or by charging the credit card on the account.

Steps to turn off Auto Renewal from your XMB:

  1. First navigate to your Image (Settings)and press the Image button.
  2. Navigate to the Image icon, and press the Image button.
  3. Next go to the [Account Infomation] option and press theImage button.
  4. Now choose the [Services List] option and press the Image button.
  5. Highlight the selected service you would like to cancel and press the Image button.
  6. Highlight the line item marked as "Subscription" and press the Imagebutton.
  7. The [Cancel Automatic Renewal] option is highlighted at the bottom of the screen. Press the Imagebutton on your controller to cancel the subscription renewal.

From PS3

Here are the steps to turn off the Auto Renewal option on your XMB:

  1. On the XMB, navigate to Image(PlayStation Network).
  2. Press the Imagebutton, and scroll to Image(Account Management)
  3. Press the Imagebutton, and scroll to Image(Transaction Management)
  4. Press the Imagebutton, and scroll to Image(Services List).
  5. Scroll to the service you wish to no longer have renew automatically, and press the Imagebutton.
  6. Highlight the line item marked as "Subscription" and press the Imagebutton.
  7. The "Cancel Automatic Renewal" button is highlighted at the bottom of the screen. Press the Imagebutton on your controller to cancel the subscription renewal.

Important: This will only disable the auto renewal for the subscription service that was selected.

If you wish to re-enable the auto renewal feature, just simple repeat the step listed above. The "Cancel Automatic Renewal" button is replaced a with "Restart Automatic Renewal" button for any subscriptions that are not set to automatically renew.

Here are the steps to turn off Auto Renewal option from the Sony Entertainment Network website:

  1. Visit https://account.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/login.action and log in to your SEN account.
  2. Click on "Account" on the top menu.

  3. Click on "Wallet" from the left navigation.

  4. Under "Wallet Settings", you can see whether "Automatically Add Funds to Renew Subscriptions" is set to Yes or No. To change the setting, click on "Edit" underneath the "Automatically Add Funds to Renew Subscriptions" setting.

  5. Now click on the Yes/No dropdown next to "Automatically Add Funds to Renew Subscription" and select No to stop Auto Renewal then click "Save".

  6. It will display a "Your Wallet settings have been saved" message once complete.

Note that this will stop all of your subscriptions from auto renewing.
