Setting up your PULSE wireless stereo headset - Elite Edition with PS Vita or Mobile Devices.

Your headset comes with an audio cable*. This cable will allow you to use the headset with PS VITA and many mobile devices. If you are having trouble getting the headset to work with your mobile device after connecting it with the included cable, try switching the headset power to the OFF position. Once the headset is switched off try playing the content again.  Note: BassImpact™ will not work when the headset power is OFF.

If the above solution does not resolve the issue, you can purchase a standard audio cable (available at many retailers) to connect your headset to your mobile device in order to enable sound. Note: standard audio cables do not support voice communication.

*The Mixer slider does not function while using the headset with an audio cable.

Troubleshooting connection issues with your PULSE - wireless stereo headset - Elite Edition

If your headset is experiencing any of the following symptoms, please restore the headset to factory settings using the Pulse Elite Edition Manager App. This should correct the issue.

    • Will not charge
    • Will not power on
    • Powers on, but will not pair with the dongle (no beep sound)
    • When connected to PS3, the message "unknown device" is displayed

To restore the headset to its factory default settings:

    1. Download the Pulse Elite Edition Manager Application on your PS3 by going to the PlayStation Store>Apps>All PS3 Apps
    2. Open the application (It's located under "Game" in the Xross Media Bar)
    3. Plug the headset into the PS3 via a USB cable
    4. From the main menu screen of the application, press the Select button
    5. Choose the "Factory Default" option and press X to update the headset.
    6. If your headset will not charge, power on, or pair, let the headset run out of charge.

As with all wireless products, the presence of other wireless devices may affect the performance of your PULSE - Elite Edition headset. Here are some tips for maximizing the performance of your new headset:

    • Ensure that your wireless adaptor is seated properly in the PS3 USB port.
    • Remove unused wireless adaptors from the other PS3 USB port(s).
    • If necessary, connecting the wireless adaptor to the PS3 USB port via a short extension cable can eliminate any interference with other wireless devices connected to your PS3 (extension cable not included).

    Optimizing your BassImpact™ Experience

The PULSE - Elite Edition headset comes with 6 pre-loaded BassImpact™ modes,  accessible by pressing the MODE button. Below are the 6 modes:

    1. Game: BassImpact™ optimized to intensify the gaming experience.
    2. Music: BassImpact™ optimized for music.
    3. Movie: BassImpact™ optimized for movies.
    4. Shooter: BassImpact™ lets you feel the footsteps of enemies around you and amplifies the effets of explosions and gunfire.
    5. Fighting: BassImpact™ lets you feel the impacts of punches and kicks while fighting. The strength of hits is mirrored in BassImpact effects.
    6. Racing: BassImpact™ lets you feel the engine sounds of competitors around you and augments the effects of acceleration, collisions, and crashes.

It is important you adjust the BassImpact slider based on the content you are viewing.  Down below, we have described how to utilize the slider to achieve the best BassImpact™ effect.

    1. In Game, Music & Movie mode the slider controls the strength of the pulses you feel provided by BassImpact™. Move the slider towards the OFF position for softer pulses.  Move the slider towards the MAX position for stronger pulses.
    2. In Shooter, Fighting, and Racing mode, the slider determines the frequency with which you will feel the pulses of BassImpact™ in the content you are viewing. By moving the slider towards the MAX position, BassImpact™ will be triggered more often, therefore you will feel more pulses.

    Resetting the headset

If the headset does not respond when you try to operate it, reset it by doing the following:

    1. With the wireless adaptor connected to the PS3 system, insert a small pin or similar object into the hole for the reset button and press down for at least 1 second. The status indicator will flash repeatedly.
      Image
    2. Ensure the headset is switched off. Locate the Mic Mute, Mode & VSS button and hold all three buttons pressed down while switching the headset on. The blue light on the headset will begin to flash as you switch the headset on. If the headset is not connected to a PS3 via USB cable, the light will stay blue when pairing is complete. If the headset is connected to a PS3 via a USB cable the light will flash blue as you switch the power on and will change to red when the pairing is complete.

When the rest is complete, the headset and wireless adaptor will be connected.

    Adjusting the Sidetone Feature

With the wireless stereo headset we included a sidetone feature which allows you to hear your own voice being played back in the headset.  This feature can be controlled directly from the headset. By holding down the Mute button for at least 2 seconds you can cycle through the sidetone modes:

    • 1 short beep, sidetone low
    • 2 short beeps, sidetone high

    Default sidetone position is OFF
